Nuestro proyecto:

La pandemia de COVID-19 impacta la vida de las personas en todo el mundo. Debido a las restricciones de viaje y las medidas de distanciamiento físico, tuvimos que cambiar los planes iniciales del proyecto para crear un video participativo sobre "¿Cómo las mujeres migrantes en Medellín, especialmente las madres jefes de familia, negocian su "derecho a la ciudad "?

Este proyecto utiliza un método innovador y pionero de "video participativo remoto" utilizando teléfonos inteligentes. Las mujeres que participan en la película filman con sus teléfonos inteligentes aspectos de sus vidas durante la pandemia, brindan información sobre los desafíos que enfrentan y sobre las aspiraciones que tienen para un cambio futuro. La primera fase de filmación comenzó el 18 de mayo de 2020. La filmación se lleva a cabo durante el período de verano y proporcionaremos actualizaciones constantes sobre el proyecto en esta página web.

 

English project description:

The COVID-19 pandemic impacts people’s lives everywhere in the world. Because of travel restrictions and physical distancing measures we had to change initial project plans to create a participatory video about ‘How do migrant women in Medellín, especially mothers and heads of household, negotiate their ‘right to the city’? 

However, being well aware that women are amongst the most affected groups of people during emergencies and disasters, we were able, with the help of an LSE Knowledge Exchange and Impact Fund, to create a remote participatory project with the migrant women in Medellin that investigates the impact of COVID-19 on their everyday lives in poorer areas of the city. 

 

This project uses an innovative and pioneering method of ‘remote participatory video’ using smartphones. Women who take part in the study film with their smartphones aspects of their lives during the pandemic and provide information about the challenges they face and the aspirations they have for future change. The first filming phase started on the 18th of May 2020. Filming takes place over the summer period and we will provide constant updates about the project on this webpage.
